When it comes to attracting more visitors to your site, there is nothing like a well crafted set of web graphics to entice them in. Likewise, there is nothing like an ugly site to get them hitting the back button, never to return.

A web site is a mixture of text and graphics and you need to plan it well if you are to get the right mix. If you use too few, it will look quite plain and uninteresting, too many and it will look too fussy. When you are adding extra graphics think, ‘when in doubt, leave it out’. The more graphics will also mean that the page will load slower which could mean a potential customer going somewhere else.


When you are considering your web page, think about what the purpose of it is and what you are trying to do with it. Look for a common thread to run through the site, like a particular colour or graphic that makes your site unique.
