  • Anti-spam Filter Software
By Terry on September 30th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Nowadays, spam is more than just an irritating flood unwanted email. It is also a means by which spammers can transmit viruses, spyware and adware to your computer. An anti-spam filter is essential to minimizing this potential risk. It will also stem the flow of spam into your inbox.

What is an Anti-spam Filter Software?

An anti-spam filter is a program designed to detect and block unsolicited bulk email. It works by scanning any incoming email for words, phrases, html code and other spammer tactics to determine whether an email is spam or not. It does this based on probability formulas that calculate the likelihood that an email that has certain words is spam.

It will also create black lists and white lists. The blacklist will store email from unknown ISP and email addresses or ISP addresses; the whitelist will hold email that is sent from pre-approved sources. The filter software will also keep these lists up to date. Whenever the filter detects that an incoming email is spam, its address is added to the blacklist. Whenever the sender or recipient confirms an email as trusted and legitimate, it will be added to the white list. Most of the “sporm” (spam pornography) will be filtered out as well as any email that it detects has adult content.

What Should You Look for in Anti-spam Filter Software?

Here are other important features you should take into consideration:

    - Make sure the anti-spam filter software is compatible with your particular email service. Do not take it for granted that it will work with what you have.

    - It is important that the software program is easy for you to use and navigate. Anti-spam software is worthless if you can’t figure out how to use it or if it has features you do not understand. More on Spam Protection.

    Email Marketing With E Newsletters

email marketing tools is not just all about unsolicited emails with advertisements making outrageous claims. Unfortunately the abundance of spam which inundates Internet users each day has caused many to formulate a negative opinion about email marketing but savvy Internet marketers who understand how to market successful enjoy an advantage over the competition by turning to e-newsletters to reach more potential customers. This article will discuss e-newsletters and how they can be used effectively as part of an email marketing solution. digital marketing.

An e-newsletter is very similar to newsletters which are printed and distributed via mail or other avenues. The most significant distance is the method of distribution. While traditional newsletters are typically mailed to the recipients or distributed in person, e-newsletters are distributed exclusively online. These e-newsletters may be either emailed in the body of an email message or may be included as a link in an email which directs the recipient to the website for the e-newsletter. In either case the recipient can read the e-newsletter while online and print it out or save it to their hard drive for future use.

The contents of an e-newsletter may vary somewhat drastically depending on the business the e-newsletter is promoting, the purpose of the e-newsletter and even the personal preferences of the business owner and the employees producing the e-newsletter. However, the general format for an e-newsletter is to include useful information in the form of full length feature articles or shorter pieces offering useful tips. The e-newsletter should also contain at least some subtle advertising for the products and services offered by the producer of the e-newsletter. These pieces of advertising should not be blatant and should allow readers of the e-newsletter to formulate their own opinions regarding the products or services. email marketing campaign.

The content of an e-newsletter should make up the bulk of the document. This may include full length feature articles which provide information for the readers. It may also include shorter pieces which may offer tips, review products or offer advice to the reader. The key to providing high quality content in these e-newsletters is to have them written by a capable writer who is knowledgeable about the subject matter. The writer may have an understanding of the subject matter or may simply be able to research the subject and learn enough to write accurate and informative articles on the topic. In either case the distributor of the e-newsletter should carefully review the content for both quality and accuracy before publishing the e-newsletter.

Distributors of e-newsletters should also consider including graphical elements into their e-newsletters. This may include product pictures or any other relevant graphics which provide meaning to the text of the e-newsletter. A graphic designer can assist you with this endeavor by helping you to create graphics, crop them appropriately and place them in a prime location on the layout of the e-newsletter.

Finally, distributors of e-newsletters should carefully consider their audience before using email for marketing purposes. The primary consideration should be whether or not the target audience is likely to be receptive to marketing in the form of emails or an e-newsletter. If they are likely to respond to this type of marketing it is worthwhile to pursue an email marketing campaign. However, care should be taken to ensure the emails sent to the target audience are designed specifically to appeal to these potential customers. This type of specialization should include the type of language used in the copy, the layout of the email or e-newsletter and the graphics used in the email or e-newsletter. Additionally, the copy should be filed with information which will be useful to the recipients. Another factor to consider is to whom to send the emails. Sending these emails to a large group of recipients who have not requested information from you and have no interest in your products and services is a waste of time. It is a better idea to ask customers and potential customers if they are interested in receiving more information and having them join an email distribution list if they wish to receive more information. Sending your emails to this distribution list ensures the majority of recipients will have an interest in your products or services and are not likely to automatically delete your emails as spam. You need a better than good email marketing solution. email marketing software.

  • Has Email Marketing Campaign Software Helped With Your Marketing Management Goals?
    By Terry on September 25th, 2008 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

    Is Your Email Marketing Working?

This is a question which is on the mind of all business owners who participate in an email marketing campaign for the purposes of promoting their business. In fact questions regarding the effectiveness of any type of marketing endeavor should be asked regularly to ensure the marketing efforts are producing the desired results. Asking these questions on a regular basis and continually evaluating the effectiveness of the email marketing campaign will help to ensure the email marketing campaign is working well and remains effective whenever changes are made to the marketing strategy. This article will highlight why it is so important to evaluate your email marketing strategy often and will also provide a few tips for evaluating your email marketing strategy. marketing management.

Evaluating your email marketing strategy on a regular basis is very important because failure to do so may result in your efforts being essentially a waste of time. Email marketing may be a cost effective way to advertise your business but there is some time, money and energy involved in planning and executing an email marketing campaigns. If the campaign is ineffective and nothing is done to attempt to make the email marketing campaign more effective your business is wasting resources by continuing to invest in this type of marketing strategy when it is not generating profit for your business or even interest in your products or services.

It is important to regularly evaluate the effectiveness of your email marketing strategy but it is even more important to set goals before you begin the process of evaluating your marketing efforts. This is important because without these goals it can be difficult to determine whether or not the email marketing efforts are effective. For example your goal may be to increase the number of sales you make per month. Evaluating whether or not you are generating more sales each month is a fairly simple process. However, if your goal is to generate more interest in your products you would use website traffic as opposed to sales to evaluate the effectiveness of the email marketing campaign. email marketing campaigns.

Once you have determined how you intend to evaluate you progress you should be able to easily determine the effectiveness of your current email marketing strategy as long as this is the only marketing you are currently doing. This is because if you have more than one marketing strategy in use at once you cannot be sure which strategy is driving customers to make purchases or visit your website. When you decide to evaluate your email marketing strategy according to specific goals you should take care to ensure you are not currently running other types of marketing in conjunction with your email marketing effort. This will help to prevent confusion about which type of marketing is producing the desired effect. It will also help to prevent business owners from mistakenly believing email marketing is producing a desired effect when it is actually another marketing strategy which is helping to product the desired effect.

Customer surveys are very important for evaluating the effectiveness of an email marketing solution. Asking customers how they heard about your products or services is an excellent way to determine whether or not many of your customers are being enticed to make a purchase based on your email marketing efforts. Additionally, these surveys can be used to obtain more detailed information about the email recipient

  • THE CUSTOMER FACTOR, A Review Of This Window Washing Software
By Terry on September 25th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

As a Window Cleaner, I’ve been looking for quality software that I can really sink my teeth into which doesn’t take an engineering degree to understand. I found it a few months ago in a window cleaning software called The Customer Factor.

Steve Wright who developed The Customer Factor is actually a former window cleaner, so I had a feeling this software would fit me perfectly.

Here is an outline of some features:

–Full prospect and customer adding, tracking, searching. Sure…other software products allow you to add customers to the database, but I doubt they have the same functionality as The Customer Factor. Immediately when I login, I get sent to a “quick summary” screen that shows me EXACTLY which customers and prospects that I need to contact. This is invaluable. Prior to The Customer Factor, I was constantly having prospects and customers fall through the cracks which means lost income.

–Invoices and invoice customization. I used to use Quickbooks as my accounting software and it did a fine job for that function. But in The Customer Factor, everything is “connected”. This means that with a couple of clicks I can not only create invoices, but also other functions are done automatically behind the scenes. It’s amazing to see it in action. Reading about this window cleaning software on the website doesn’t do it justice. I’m also able to add a logo to the invoice and even some additional text. I use this text to promote other services my company provides. Oh…and there is even a spot on the invoice for a coupon if I want to display a coupon on the invoice that a customer can cut out.

–Reports. There are soooooo many reports available in The Customer Factor. Sure…other software can display reports. But once again, the reports in this window cleaning software are focused on the window cleaning business. I can search for sales by “job type”, by sales by “marketing method” (postcards, door hangers, flyers, etc), or just do an “all” sales search by either specific date or specific period like “last year”, “last quarter”, or “last month”. So come January of this coming year, when I’m looking for info. to fill into my tax return, all I have to do is do a “last year” search for sales info, and bingo. Speaking about taxes though, I can also keep track of my mileage which is really cool. If you file your taxes based on the mileage you drive, this is real handy. And there are P&L reports, expense reports, sales tax collected reports, and a bunch more.

–Reminders. I’ve been looking for window cleaning software product that will “remind” me what needs to be done when. I mentioned above that immediately upon logging in, I get sent to a quick summary screen showing me much needed prospect and customer information. But I can actually choose to receive a daily email
reminder with everything that I need to do. Every single morning when I wake up, there’s the email waiting for me. Steve says he has little gremlins send out these emails every morning at 3am. Ha ha ha.

Some closing notes. The Customer Factor has a personalization feature where I can print personalized letters to prospects and customers with a couple of clicks. This is a monster of a time saver. I love this feature. And although I haven’t done any bulk mailing yet, there is a label option where I can print out labels too.

I can also backup all of my data in my account. This was a major selling point to me because I needed the security of being able to backup and secure my data. So The Customer Factor provides this. Lots of other features are available too, so I’d recommend you check it out. The last time I checked, The Customer Factor still has a 100% 30 day money back guarantee, so it’s a no-risk proposition. Personally though, if you ask for your money back on this software, then you simply don’t “get it”. There is nothing else out there like this.

Cost: $24.95 monthly. Or you can save some bucks if you sign up quarterly. Yes, this is a subscription based program which initially I didn’t care for. But if you think about it, it’s the only way to ensure we’re getting the best software product. Think about it for a minute. If there was a one time charge, would the software be upgraded regularly? Probably not. In the last 6 months alone, Steve has introduced about 20 or so new features into The Customer Factor. So the money he is being paid monthly/quarterly is constantly being reinvested into making the software better. I’ve even suggested a feature and within a couple of weeks, it was built into the program. Mighty neato.

And I’ve spoken to other members who have been using The Customer Factor since it was first launched way back in 2004. The general consensus is that Steve’s goal is to constantly improve it based on member suggestions.

But back to the $24.95 per month subscription issue for a second. I’ve owned software in the past where even though it might ask for an initial payment, that’s never really all I paid. Every time a new feature was introduced or a new version was released for the software, the developers would have their hand out asking for more money. So I much prefer the $24.95 per month (it’s locked in and never goes up) plan because I know exactly what my costs are. There are no additional costs for anything. So through all the new features and upgrades, my costs are still $24.95 per month. Not too shabby at all. I write it off as a business expense each month and off I go.

So that’s it. The above is my review of this window cleaning software called The Customer Factor. I’ve been a member now for 6 months and after seeing what it has done for my window cleaning business, I’ll never use any other software. Ever!
